JEAN MICHEL MAROIS(M.A.)
A violinist from a young age, Jean-Michel Marois is a multi-instrumentalist who plays in the Quebec City area, whether in a studio, in a popular ensemble, traditional, classical or baroque music.
During his training, Jean-Michel will study among others with Michiko Nagashima. Jean-Michel worked as a solo violinist with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Faculty of Music. In the last five years, he has also been given the responsibility of solo violin at the Baroque Music Workshop, under the direction of the co-founder of the Violons du Roy and renowned harpsichordist.
Holder of a Master's degree in Classical Interpretation with specialization in baroque music from the Faculty of Music of Laval University Jean-Michel will work with Brett Molzan and Nicole Trottier (violin solo of the Violons du Roy).
In recent years, Jean-Michel has been a professional violinist on several projects and performances in the popular field.
Rachel started learning cello at the age of 4. She was admitted to the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec at the age of 10. She plays in the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec Orchestra through which she had the opportunity to participate in a tour and four concerts with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra.
She participates in the summer of 2002 at the courses of the International Academy of Domaine Forget. In 2005, she met the international soloist Shauna Rolston with whom she perfected her technique. She has also played for international cellists Roland Pidoux and Jean-Guihen Queyras.
She will study with Ms. Huguette Morin and won in 2008 the first prize of the musical expression contest of CÉGEP Ste-Foy. During all her years of university studies at the Faculty of Music, she held the position of Principal Cellist. In recent years, Rachel has been involved as a professional cellist in several projects and performances in the popular field.
